Area elected officials respond to the end of DACA
On Tuesday, Gov. Terry McAuliffe, Virginia’s two Senators and several Hampton Roads members of Congress objected to President Donald Trump’s decision to end an Obama-era program that protects children of illegal immigrants.
In a statement, McAuliffe urged Trump to reconsider his decision. Sen. Tim Kaine, who was Hillary Clinton’s running mate last year, said the decision broke a promise Trump had made to those young people.
