Corrine Brown: Money in account came from birthdays, Christmas and ‘sometimes I had boyfriends’
UPDATE 12:20 p.m.: After breaking down in tears on the witness stand under questioning from prosecutors, former U.S. Rep. Corrine Brown regained her composure and repeatedly denied that she ever committed fraud.
After enduring another hour of questioning from prosecutors, she stepped down from the stand. Her defense then rested its case.
With all the evidence submitted, jurors are expected to hear each sides’ closing arguments Monday.
Brown retook the stand after requesting a short break from U.S. District Judge Timothy Corrigan earlier in the morning when she became emotional during a series of questions.
