Who couldn’t use a break after the election? And what would be more relaxing than visiting a luxury resort on someone else’s dime?
Ah, the life of a California legislator.
About a dozen senators and Assembly members just wrapped up a five-day visit to Hawaii for the Independent Voter Project’s annual Maui Conference.
Organizers described the conference, held at the $360-a-night Fairmont Kea Lani Hotel, as an opportunity to discuss issues on a bipartisan basis in a relaxed atmosphere (far) away from the Capitol (and any prying eyes).
