Elijah Cummings’ Heart Surgery Repairs ‘Narrowing’ Aortic Valve
Elijah Cummings is recovering after undergoing a “minimally invasive” heart surgery on Wednesday.
Cummings, the Maryland Democrat who serves on the House Oversight Committee, underwent a trans arterial aortic valve replacement (TAVR) procedure with the hopes of correcting his “narrowing” aortic valve, according to The Hill.
The surgery was successful and the aortic valve was replaced.
Cummings will remain in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins hospital — where he had the surgery — for the next few days to recover.
