Lawmaker wants ban on feds staying at Trump hotels
Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., has introduced an amendment to the current “minibus” appropriations bill that would restrict federal funds from being used for rentals at any of 38 Trump-branded properties during official travel.
The spending package — which includes funding bills for the Department of Defense, Veterans Affairs, the Energy Department, as well as the legislative branch and many independent agencies — is expected to be taken up by the House this week. These funding measures typically garner extensive provisions.
