Lawmakers learn about fund to fight human trafficking
Last week, three Missouri residents from the St. Louis area traveled to Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., to meet with members of Congress on behalf on the nonprofit International Justice Mission to discuss potential solutions to the global issue of human trafficking.
More than 40 million people are being trafficked around the world, according to the Global Slavery Index. With a high prevalence of trafficking in Missouri, our state’s representatives from both sides of the political aisle are setting aside their differences to explore solutions. One of the most promising solutions is the Global Fund to End Modern Slavery.
