Louisiana comes in last in Bloomberg’s state gender-equality ranking

Louisiana ranked 50th among the states — last place — in Bloomberg’s annual gender-equality ranking released Wednesday (March 8). The ranking rates states on male-female median pay ratios, female labor-force participation, education, health coverage and poverty.
Bloomberg attributed Louisiana’s low ranking to the high percentage of women living in poverty. Mississippi ranked 49th in the Bloomberg analysis, with …
