Md. National Guard troops to help in US Virgin Islands for hurricane relief
ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan announced that 100 National Guard troops have been sent to the U.S. Virgin Islands to assist in hurricane relief and recovery efforts.
The troops from the 200th Military Police Company from Catonsville, Maryland, will be deployed for up to 30 days and will be assisting law enforcement and in guarding infrastructure.
Last week, Hogan authorized members of the National Guard’s 729th Quartermaster Composite Supply Company to head to Puerto Rico, where they’ve been working on water purification efforts.
