A bipartisan group of Michigan legislators is getting behind the idea of the military�s newest plane taking off and landing in Macomb County.
The federal leaders, including Macomb County House of Representative members Paul Mitchell (R-Dryden), whose district stretches from northern Macomb into the Thumb, and Sander Levin (D-Royal Oak), who takes in much of Macomb County�s south end, recently sent a letter to the secretary of the U.S. Air Force in support of Selfridge Air National Guard Base�s campaign to host the F-35 Lighting II.
