New Jersey Senators Cory Booker, Bob Menendez, express PennEast concerns
New Jersey Sens. Bob Menendez and Cory Booker, both Democrats, jointly expressed their concerns about the proposed PennEast natural gas pipeline in a letter sent to federal regulators last week. The letter comes just weeks before a final, key report is expected to be released.
The proposed pipeline would carry natural gas approximately 120 miles, from Luzerne County in northeast Pennsylvania to Mercer County, New Jersey. Because it would run between two states, the pipeline’s review and approval is handled by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.
