NYS Volunteer Firefighters Gathered in Albany to Discuss Legislation for 2017
ALBANY, N.Y. — About 70 volunteer firefighters from different parts of the state gathered in Albany to discuss legislation items for the 2017 legislative year.
At the 83rd annual Legislative Conference, the Fireman’s Association of New York is spending the weekend refining their legislative agenda.
Among the items in development is a proposal for the Cancer Impairment Bill. The legislation provides a “rebuttable presumption” that several types of cancer are covered under volunteer laws.
