Pope Francis’ vision of mercy for victims of human trafficking came to life in East Baton Rouge Parish Wednesday morning as a new home, the Metanoia Manor, was dedicated to love and foster teens who are victims of this modern day slavery.
“This model that you have here could be a model not only for your country, but also our world,” said Bishop Marcelo Sanchez-Sorondo, a representative of the Vatican tasked by the pope to work on human trafficking who attended the ceremony for the new shelter.
