Shooting victim De’Andre Carter remembered in vigil
About 50 people attended a Take Back the Site prayer vigil for Carter on Tuesday afternoon outside the west Erie tavern. The vigil was organized by the Sisters of St. Joseph, Sisters of Mercy and the Benedictine Sisters of Erie.

De’Andre Carter spent the past five years working as an electrician and he hoped to start his own company one day.
Those plans ended in the early morning hours on April 30, when Carter, 28, died after he was shot once in the chest during a disturbance inside the Ultra View Lounge in the 900 block of West Fourth Street.
