President Trump is proposing a $54 billion increase in military spending for 2018. This would increase the military budget by 10 percent over current levels, bringing military spending to more than 60 percent of discretionary spending.
The increase in military spending would come at the expense of massive cuts to the Environmental Protection Agency, education, and human services, including cuts in programs such as Meals On Wheels, after-school programs and others with direct impact on the people of Wilmington.
