Sunday’s Editorial: Corrine Brown abused the public trust
In the end, Corrine was delivering for herself.
Nobody could deny that Corrine Brown is relentless.
But when she used her massive power and influence to raise money for scholarships for poor children, Brown used the money to support a luxurious lifestyle.
That was unethical, immoral and, according to a federal jury, illegal.
The conviction of the former member of Congress on 18 counts of conspiracy, mail and wire fraud and tax charges can be viewed in many ways.
It’s a tragedy for her and a disappointment for the constituents she represented for so many years in Congress.
